Other measures

Self-monitoring

During treatment, it is often useful to have patients engage in daily self-monitoring. For example, they can be asked to record minutes spent pulling per day or number of “submits” (how often they pulled) versus “resists” (how often they wanted to pull but did not) each day.

Photographs

It may be useful to take photographs of pulled areas to have objective assessment of progress.

Hair collection

Ask patient to collect (and count) pulled hairs. This can be a helpful and objective way of monitoring progress.
